Belgevain Begins Pt II by ~Belgevain:iconBelgevain:

“I don’t care why you’re here! Why have you kidnapped me?” Kiret yelled, Bel looked at her and blinked slowly.
“You recognised me, realised I wasn’t who I said I was… I couldn’t let you tell them. It was this or shoot you…”
“You DID shoot me”
“It was a stun blast! That hardly counts”
“So why didn’t you kill me then?” Kiret glared at Bel. He blinked and looked confused.
“I honestly don’t know, I… I just felt I could trust you, something about you…” He sighed and looked down at his feet; Kiret went silent for a few moments. “Look I’m sorry for dragging you into this, but I have to ask you not to tell anyone who I am. Certain people are after me, and I need somewhere to hide out for a few weeks, then I’ll be out of your hair for good.”
Kiret looked at him, “Why should I? I mean I’m staking a lot on your word. How can I know I can trust you?”
Belgevain looked at her, “Well I didn’t shoot you, that’s gotta count for something? Surely there’s something you want? Anything?”
“You say you oppose the Empire, I guess you’ve travelled the Galaxy?” Kiret stared directly at him, her eyes calculating.
Bel was caught of guard, “Well… Yes… But, why do you want to know?”
Kiret looked at him, her mind running over how she longed for tales of the Galaxy, how she found her life on Talus boring, how she’d gone against her families wishes to join the Starport security so one day she might get to travel off world. She took a breath then spoke “Curiosity, Talus is a small world, I want to know what’s out there, and you’re going to tell me.” Kiret grinned
“So I tell you about the Galaxy and you don’t blow my cover?”
“Something like that, but I want to know what YOU’VE done, why you fight the Empire…”
“Now?”
Kiret chuckled, “No, we meet up in the Cantina each evening, that way I can keep an eye on you, if you don’t show I blow you’re cover, and Fed-Dub will be all over you”
Bel laughed, “You’re a shrewd woman… All right, you have a deal!” He offered a hand and shook with Kiret. “When do we begin?”
“Tomorrow, six o’clock, and you’d best not be late!”

One Month Later
Kiret sat back on the cafe chair laughing “You actually threatened to impale him on a rifle?”
“Yup” Bel nodded, grinning ear to ear “He got the idea quite quickly after that”
“So what happened next? What happened to him after that?” Kiret leant forward again; keen to hear more of the tale.
“Well turns out he had a guard on the inside; he got free, reported back to his superiors, who’ve decided that I’m a threat, and sent an assassin after me.”
“They sent an assassin?”
“Yup, thing is, if it was a bounty hunter it’d be easy to deal with, but an assassin plays by different rules, so I was ordered to go into hiding whilst they try to work out who it was I’d pissed off… This time” Belgevain took another sip of his drink then looked at Kiret, “That’s all I have… I hate to say this, but I’m fresh out of stories…”
Kiret looked at Bel smiled, then reached for his hand, “We can still meet up if you’d like?”
He smiled back as he took her hand, “I’d like that, its been nice to talk, its not often I get to make friends, in my line of work we don’t stay in one place all that long.”
“I wish I could see what these people really looked like, I’ve got names, but no faces to them…” Kiret sighed.
“Hey, it’s bad enough you know their name, that’s put you in enough risk!”
“All right… Now then, what about our plans for tomorrow? How about we meet in at the fair tomorrow? I’ve got the day off?”
Bel grinned, “It’s a date! Now you get to work, I’ll see you tomorrow!”

At the Starport
Kiret drummed her fingers on the counter, the day was dragging, and the Starport almost completely quiet and she shifted her weight on her seat again and idly looked at the computer terminal. She blinked a few moments then suddenly had an idea. She leaned back towards the terminal and called up a search for the name “Belgevain Iomea”. The computer hummed for a moment then came up with a hit. Kiret narrowed her eyes, then opened the file and began to read. A few moments later she stopped; there was nothing new in the file, just different interpretations of what Bel had already told her. What surprised was the fact there were no pictures, it was though the Empire knew he existed but not what he looked like or where he was. She sighed and closed the search, “Looks like he really has told me everything…

Meanwhile…
On board a Star Destroyer a cloaked figure paced back and forth in his private quarters, his anger literally coming off him in waves.
“How can he just disappear? Surely he’s cropped up somewhere!” He snarled, flinging the datapad he’d been reading across the room, whilst turning to face a man sat at a computer.
“Patience Sukia, he’ll show up soon enough, eventually he’ll make a mistake, he always does.”  Field Marshall Daley Entorina readjusted his uniforms jacket as he sat forward in his chair, “I’ve got intelligence covering the holo-net to see if there have been any recent sightings, and even now we’re following up on a lead that he may have been seen here on Corellia.”
“Be that as it may, be he’s eluded me far too many times! I want to see him pay!” Sukia growled
“Don’t make this personal Sukia, the last time you faced him he took advantage of your anger to make good his escape, I won’t tolerate your failure much longer!”
Sukia swore under his breath, he hated working for this officer, yet begrudgingly admired the tactical mind behind it; this simple officer had outsmarted not only him, but several attempts on his life and command, from all sorts of enemies. No matter what was thrown at Daley, he was always a step ahead. Yet despite this, Sukia could feel Daley’s irritation regarding Belgevains continued elusiveness, it seemed that Sukia wasn’t the only one who’d been thwarted by Belgevain. Sukia smirked, his foul mood slightly abated with the knowledge his master wasn’t as all powerful as he’d make Sukia believe… A comn request broke Sukia out of his reprieve.
“Field Marshall Entorina, you requested that I alert you if Belgevain came up on the database, his file was just accessed on Talus, at the Dearic Starport, by a one of their security staff, sending the details through now”
Daley smiled, “It would seem he’s made his mistake” His eyes darted over the files as he called them up on his terminal, “I want you to go this security staffs home and find out what she knows, this wasn’t a random occurrence, she knows something…”
“She? You saying our contact is a woman?”
“Sukia, the source is irregardless; in this case this security guard has merely unwittingly tipped us off, now we simply finish the job.”
Sukia started towards the door, then paused and turned to face Daley, “What’s her name?”
Daley glanced at the file “Kiret of Axium… Now go to Axium, take your ship we don’t want him to elude us again, I shall be there once my business on Corellia is concluded”
“I thought you said Belgevain was our top priority?”
Daley glared at Sukia, “I said he was YOUR top priority, you’re getting to familiar referring to us as ‘we’ remember your place! Now follow your orders!”
Sukia gritted his teeth, turned and headed for the shuttle bay, Daley waited until the Dark Jedi had left the room before turning to the terminal once again, looking at the report. He spoke softly to himself “We’ve found you Bel… You won’t get away this time…”
